Welcoming 3 New Homes to Our Program

Last week marked an exciting milestone for our Global Identity Program (GIP) as we introduced it to children at three new orphanages, who participated in our trial program. The theme and focus of this trial lesson was understanding and respecting the diversity in the world, specifically focusing on how we are similar and different to people all across the world.

Despite nearly half of the participants never having used a computer before, they swiftly adapted to the digital tools provided. Within a two-hour session, these young minds created impressive Canva posters that not only demonstrated their technical skills but also their ability to engage with global concepts.

The care workers and our team were amazed at the detailed and thoughtful work produced by the children. It was a revelation of untapped potential and a testament to the resilience and capability of these young learners.

Here's what some of the children had to say about the experience:

  • "I really enjoyed researching online for my project!"

  • "It was so fun to work together with my friends on creating and presenting our project!"

  • "I want to be able to speak English just like the volunteers!"

  • "I didn't know there were this many countries in the world!"

This trial lesson is part of our broader GIP initiative, which incorporates project-based learning, excursions, and seasonal camps, all designed to foster self-discovery among children in orphanages.

A huge thank you to YouMeWeNPO for providing the computers needed for these programs. Your support is invaluable to us!
